Originally making a splash on the music scene as the golden voice and hook artist on hiphop talent Pflames’ album 1978, Damien Q has taken his multi-octave voice to a whole new level with his newest EP release, “Chrysalis.” The title track off his upcoming album, Damien Q’s soaring vocals and pointedly honest lyrics combine with a creative and unexpected beat to deliver a soulful and relatable ballad of grief. Damien Q has demonstrated his artfulness in playing across many genres, as the lyricist of A Path To My Soul, a collaborative concept album with Turkish composer, Spidervis and his joint work with Psybient composer J.M. Kotter on the Il Fuzz Project. His continued solo work suggests he will continue to press these form boundaries while cleverly packaging it all in relatable and catchy songs.
